This is an old writing that was passed on to me by a dear friend:

Nothing can take the place of persisitence
Talent will not
Nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with Talent.
Genius will not
Unrewarded Genius is almost a proverb
Education will not
The world is full of educated derelicts

(I adapted this last line to work better for myself): Persistence and Determination ‘and abiding faith in God’ alone are omnipotent.
